Los Angeles based indie rock band, The Alternates was formed on friendship, with a desire of writing songs with a promising new music concept, with the opportunity of creative exploration and freedom. With influences ranging from Radiohead to Neil Young, The Alternates have grown creatively since their formation in 2005 as friends that met at Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies, a magnet school in San Fernando Valley. Since their first show in October of 2005 at Theater Theatre in Los Angeles, The Alternates have grown into one of the most respected Los Angeles indie rock band that has captivated audiences with their honest lyrics and raw-solid melodies.

The Alternates is fronted by Spencer Livingston, a charismatic lyricist whose deep-toned vocals shares lead guitar with Tristan Esmundo who brings raw riffs and echoing energy to Kevin Solis on Bass. Matt Walker and Erwin Solis (Kevin’s Twin Brother) double up on drums developing a strong reputation as a live act. Jake Craven brings his multi-instrumental performance that blends perfectly into the set. The Alternates’ sound is a sonorous blend of modern alternative soundscaping that boasts a rhythm section like that of an aged euro-rock remaining grounded on the foundation of Blues & Rock n’ Roll.

With over 30 original songs, The Alternates have established themselves as an explosive band that has astonished and earned the respect of music fanatics and critics in the United States and the United Kingdom. From presenting “The Lifetime Achievement Award” to Spencer Davis of the Spencer Davis Band at the Los Angeles Music Awards in 2007 to headlining the Pre-Grammy Events at The Kress in Los Angeles in 2009, The Alternates have caught the attention of the music industry and became part of the Sunset Strip Music Scene performing at acclaimed venues like The Roxy Theatre, House of Blues, The Key Club, The Whiskey A Go Go among many others.
